Opportunities on the Water

As part of our National Apprenticeship week events, Petty Officer Kay Smith visited the College to deliver a Royal Navy Careers and Apprenticeships workshop to a group of Year 8 and Year 9 students.

During the session, students looked at the main roles of the Navy, including wider roles such as providing humanitarian assistance.

They also found out about the core values of the Navy, and apprenticeship opportunities in areas such as:

Engineering

Aviation

Logistics

Medical

Students asked P.O Smith a variety of interesting questions at the end of the session, including:

‘How long does a journey across the Indian Ocean take?’
and
‘What opportunities would you say the Navy has given you?’
