Department for Education News
Following the release of the Department for Education’s revised league tables this week, we are thrilled to share with you some fantastic news about our school performance across various outcomes.
Validated GCSE Outcomes 2025
The validated data confirms that Ivybridge students are the highest‑performing GCSE non‑selective cohort in Devon. We are also pleased to confirm that 71.6% of our students achieved grade 5 or above in both English and maths, highlighting the consistently strong outcomes across these core subjects.
We are particularly proud of the achievements of our disadvantaged students, who achieved an Attainment 8 score of 44.6, demonstrating the impact of our tailored support and our commitment to equity and inclusion.
Whilst the DfE does not publish standalone data about the performance of SEND students, this data and our internal measures continue to show that our young people with SEND are making strong and sustained progress at Ivybridge, a testament to the dedication of our staff and the high‑quality personalised provision in place.
Validated A Level Outcomes 2025
Significantly, the revised data also confirms that we are ranked first in Devon for the progress made by our students at A Level.
The data shows how much progress students who studied A Levels at any given school made between the end of Year 11 and the end of their A Level studies, compared to similar students across England. A score above zero means students made more progress, on average, than similar students.
Based on 2025 results, we secured a score of 0.34, meaning our students made stronger progress by attending our school than a similar school nationally.

These results reflect not only the high academic aspirations of students at the College, but also the determination of our young people and their support networks. We are very proud of everything our students have achieved and thank you for your continued support of our school.
