--------

We kick things off in the pool where Year 8 student Lilly (pictured) has been making a splash.

We would like to congratulate her on her Gold Medal at a recent, locally organised Swimming Gala.

--------

Meanwhile, she not the only female student who has made a Final.

Well Done to our Girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Group (pictured) who recently reached their fourth consecutive International Final at Goodwood, as part of the Greenpower Electric Car Racing Series.

Despite being hampered by a flat tyre in their second race, the girls still had a good day, finishing just within the top 25 competitors for their class in the first race, and just squeezing into the top half of the table (out of 48 competitors).

Meanwhile, one of our Year 7s was alive and kicking at a recent visit to a National Tournament.

Well Done to Reggy (pictured), who had a very successful time at the National Kickboxing Championships, winning multiple medals, including a Silver, plus three Golds!

Congratulations on this amazing achievement!

--------

Out on the Golf course, what an incredible few weeks it has been for Oscar (pictured)!

After all his hard work and practice on the course, he did exceptionally well in his very first competition.

His dedication has paid off, and we are thrilled to announce he has been selected for the Devon team.

What a brilliant achievement - well done, Oscar!

--------

Meanwhile, we would also like to say congratulations to members of our 2025 – 2026 Elite Dance Team.

--------

In the Gymnastics hall, we would like to say a huge congratulations to our seven Ivybridge Gymnasts (in the Primary Gymnastics Academy) who competed at the Honiton Invitational Competition!

A special shout-out to our medal winners:

Enid and Esme -
3rd place (Bronze) in U12 Novice - L1 Girls Pairs

and

Immy, Bonnie and Jess -
First place (Gold!) in U12 Novice - L1 Girls Trio

--------

There have been some notable achievements on the Netball Court with our Year 9 Elite Team winning their recent match by 13 points to 8 against a team from a school in Cornwall.

If that wasn’t enough, our Year 10 Elite Team also took on a Team from the same school and recorded a comprehensive victory of 46 points to 8!

--------

Over on the football field, we are incredibly proud of our Year 8 and Year 9 Girls' footballers who are embracing the fantastic "Girls Go Lead" programme, run by the FA!

Our girls have just completed three amazing modules over the last three terms, each packed with learning and leadership development.

They have shown incredible dedication and enthusiasm, and we cannot wait to see the positive impact they all have!

These dedicated young leaders from the "Girls Go Lead" team are also running the Primary Football Sessions
every Monday from 4.30 to 5.30pm,

putting their new skills into practice
by coaching and inspiring the next generation of players.

Meanwhile, in competition, congratulations to our Year 8 Football Team who took on a Devon Grammar School and recorded a comprehensive victory of 11 goals to 2!

Our commiserations to our Year 10 Elite Football Team who were at the wrong end of a tough 2-0 fixture against a Team from an academy in Torbay, but we thank them for the great effort and commitment they gave.

Commiserations too to our Senior Girls Football Team who narrowly lost 4-3 to a Team from a Devon Grammar School.

It was a truly hard-fought battle and our Team gave it absolutely everything in a nail-biting match and we thank them for their efforts.

We would also like to congratulate our opponents in both cases on their win.

However, we are pleased to report the results of Year 11 Elite Football Team’s match against a Team from a College in Teignbridge, where they won by an extraordinary 12 goals to one.

Our Year 9 Elite Football Team took a trip to Plymouth, and completing a similar feat, whitewashed their college team opponents, winning by 12 goals to zero!

To complete this section, we would like to acknowledge the incredible dedication from our girls' football club!

It is so inspiring to see 30 enthusiastic girls turning up each week after College to train hard and have fun.

Any girls who wish to join them – please make a note of
Wednesday’s from 3.30pm – 4.30pm
in your diaries.

Well done to all our Football Teams for their efforts.

--------

And finally, last but lost least, a look at some of our Rugby activities.

Thirteen Ivybridge students had an incredible time at the Continental Tyres X Love Rugby Girls Under 12 Pitch Access Day at Allianz Stadium (Twickenham)

They were part of a fantastic national showcase, playing competitive T1 Rugby in front of a huge crowd.

The highlight of the day was a meeting with and saw students being inspired by current Red Rose stars Abbie Ward and Tatyana Heard, as well as former England International Rachael Burford!

In match news, our Year 9 Elite Rugby Team had a notable result in North Devon, winning their contest against a Team from an Independent School by 27 points to 5.

It was a closer affair for our Senior Elite Rugby Team as they took on a Team from a school in Wimborne, but still won by 26 points to 33.

It was also a tight match for our Year 10 Elite Rugby Team, who won their match by 31 – 21 against a Team from a School in Exeter.

And finally, our Year 9 Elite Rugby Team gave it their all and showcased some incredible talent and sportsmanship, winning a recent contest with a whitewash – 31 points to zero.
