On Monday, 22 January 2024, Year 11 students had a Careers presentation assembly from Sergeant Liam Quinn from the Royal Air Force

Liam explained that his love for travel and elite sports initially drew him to the Forces, and he talked about his career experiences and opportunities to date, stressing to students the importance of constantly gaining qualifications and training throughout their working lives. 

He went on to highlight the OFSTED Outstanding rated apprenticeship programmes on offer at the Royal Air Force, including higher, advanced and degree apprenticeship pathways in areas such as Engineering, Information Technology, and Medicine/Dentistry.
 


Following the Year 11 assembly, Liam held a workshop and Question and Answer session with Year 9, 10 and Sixth Form students, where discussions with students covered a variety of areas including;

The RAF Selection process

Military Police roles

Pathways and Opportunities
to become a qualified Pilot

Travel and elite sports
opportunities in the RAF

Teacher Mrs Johnson also came along to the workshop to speak to students about the Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services course on offer at Sixth Form, and how students might like to consider this amongst their choices for Sixth Form study.
