Ivybridge Music Centre is funded by Devon Music Education Hub and provides music education to the Ivybridge Learning Community.
Sessions take place after school at Ivybridge Community College and are for children in Years 4, 5 and 6 at primary school, and for Years 7 to 13 at secondary school.
We believe that music making should be accessible to all.
That is why our fees are low, and all our sessions are completely free or discounted to those eligible for Free School Meals.

A programme for young people to come and learn how to play rock and pop collaboratively!
From drum kit, to bass and guitar, vocals or keyboards – this session is run by professional musicians who will help your child to learn instrumental/vocal skills in a fun band project.
Jam Slam takes place on Monday afternoons and has sessions for students in years 5 and 6 at primary and years 7 to 13 at secondary.
This is our fourteen-week programme to learn an instrument from scratch in a group.
It is particularly suited to students in year 7, but it is open to all secondary students from years 7 to 13.
We only offer certain rare instruments in Kick-Start: Trombone, Tuba, Cello, Double bass and Percussion.
In this one-year programme, students in years 4, 5 and 6 can learn an orchestral instrument, receive keyboard and general musicianship classes, and gain an Arts Award Discover qualification.
Instruments are provided free of charge to use at Music Centre, and can be rented to take home for a small fee.
Instruments include Violin, Cello, Trumpet/Cornet, Double Bass, Trombone, Tuba, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Percussion.
Primary school children in years 4, 5 and 6, who can already play an instrument to any standard, can play in our Junior Orchestra (Free of Charge).
This takes place on Wednesdays from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.
Our teachers are also able to offer one-to-one lessons, in a wide range of instruments, to primary school students of any age.
