Primary Dance

Ivybridge Dance Academy provides primary students with dance classes once a week.  The classes are for all abilities and children aged from 5  – 11 years.  The aim of Ivybridge Dance Academy is to provide an opportunity for more children to participate in dance and to develop their dance abilities.  Please see below for details.

Ivybridge Dance Academy Details

Ivybridge Dance Academy will be divided into 2 groups:

  1. Primary Dance Academy Age 5 – 7 years
  2. Primary Dance Academy Age 8+ years

Training Days:           Every Thursday

Times:                         4.00pm – 5.00pm

Venue:                       Studio 1 and 2 see below -

Primary Dance Academy Age 5 – 7 years – Studio 1 (collect and pick up from Studio 1)

Primary Dance Academy Age 8+ years – Studio 2 (collect and pick up from Studio 2)

Cost:                           £3 per session (please see costing section)

The Ivybridge Dance Academy is led by Mrs Wilson and Miss Mattinson and dancers from the Dance Academy in College.  We aim for all dancers to have the opportunity to work towards performances for shows and events.  Please find below the expectations for each dance group.


Primary Dance Academy

  • Must complete a consent form and pay dance fees
  • Must attend every Thursday training session for the year
  • Perform in shows
  • Perform at local events when asked
  • Have the opportunity to purchase dance company clothing

What Next?

If you would like your child to be a part of this exciting dance academy for 2019 please sign the  consent form and slip below and return to the following address. You will be contacted if a place is not available for your child.

New starters – New starters may have one trial session at a cost of £3.  Payment is then required in full for the rest of the half term. 


Options for payment

Pay per half term

The payment can be made in advance of the half term or be paid on the first training session of each term.  The payment must be made in full for each half term.  Late payments will not be accepted.  Children will not be allowed to train if fees have not been paid for in advance.  Payment will not be accepted per session.  Payments are non-refundable if children drop out of the Academy during the half term.

Pay for the year

Dancers can pay for the whole year if they are fully committed and dedicated to their group.  All payments can be made in cash or cheques (made payable to Ivybridge Community College).  There will be 25 - 30 places available in both groups.  There will be a waiting list for dancers if numbers become too large.

Payment is due at the start of every half term.  Please make every effort to send payment in the post in advance of the term to assist with admin.  Please send all payments to the above address.  Please do not pay on the day of the new half term. Please send payment in advance.
