Ivybridge Community College

Representing Devon in Girls’ U15 Rugby

Ivybridge Community College is delighted to hear about the success of three of our students in their first match of the season representing Devon.

Kayleigh, in Year 9, together with Hannah and Niamh, both in Year 10, are founding members in Girls’ Rugby, and have been with us from the very start of the Girls Rugby programme here at the College.  At the Girls’ Rugby Festival at Okehampton College on Sunday 23 February, they played a variety of teams from across the South West, in both 15 and 7-a-side formats.

It is very pleasing to see their hard work and dedication to the sport paying off in such a way.  The Devon team brings together all of the best female players from the area so it is even more credit to the girls that their names appear throughout the match report, and detail the impact they had in Devon securing victories over other teams.  Further information on the matches can be found here:  https://www.devonrfu.com/news?nid=1218.

Mr Kerswell, Head of Girls’ Rugby, said, “Well done girls, we are all really proud of you, and you demonstrate the progress we have made with Girls’ Rugby here at Ivybridge Community College, and highlight the bright future the College has in continuing to develop the sport, and be the very best we can.”
