Ivybridge Community College is Very Proud of Students’ Achievements
Ivybridge Community College students celebrate reaching the end of their Sixth Form studies today having received their Calculated Grades during such unprecedented times.
In what was both an unusual and unexpected end to the year, we have a lot to be proud of as we see another year group achieving such positive results, enabling them to leave the College bound for their exciting next steps at University, Further Education, Apprenticeships or Employment.
Students have successfully gained places at Oxbridge and to study both Medicine and Dentistry this year which are amazing achievements and a real testament to their hard work and commitment throughout their studies.
Over half of our students have achieved grades of B or above and these have helped to ensure that over 75% of our university bound students have been successful in achieving their top choices. The College continues to secure a high number of places at Russell Group universities reflecting the quality of applications and outcomes from our students.
Apprenticeships are becoming a competitive and popular choice after Sixth Form and it is excellent that students have secured apprenticeships with Babcock, Princess Yachts, Bishop Fleming and Devon and Cornwall Police on the back of their results this summer.
This has been and continues to be a very challenging time for our students following the premature end to their studies, cancelled examinations and the uncertainties regarding results in the media; however, as always, our students have done us proud and approached this maturely and positively.
On behalf of the College Principal, Rachel Hutchinson, and the Sixth Form team, we would like to thank all our teaching and support staff who have supported the students throughout their time at the College. We wish all of our students the very best of luck as they embark on the next stage of their education and career pathways.
