Sports Report 27/06/2025 and 04/07/2025

The Week of a 'Treble Treble'
For this report, Rugby takes a rest, however, we still have student achievements in Running as well as Volleyball and Netball, with three events each rewarding students with three, top three spots.
In addition, we also have some updates from our Girls in STEM Greenpower Racing Team in Motorsport as well as in Cricket.
--------
Following previous reports, Nelly (Year 8) (pictured) was up and running on the track at the North Devon Young Athletics Competition.
Representing the City of Plymouth Athletics Club, she stormed to victory in the 300m whilst gaining a superb silver medal position in the 100m.
Meanwhile, Nelly still found time to team up with her fellow athletes and contribute to the 4x100 Relay win, making her a triple medallist at the event!
--------
She wasn’t the only one picking up triple medals.
Our Volleyball Teams took a trip to sunny Croyde beach to take part in the Devon School Beach Volleyball Championships.
Well done to all of our Teams who represented the College, with a special mention to our Under 13 Girls and Under 12 Boys, who both secured Silver Medal position places in their respective competitions.
Meanwhile, our Under 14 Boys Team had a brilliant tournament and finished in Gold Medal Position!
Well done to all who were involved.
--------
Out on the Cricket pitch, our Under 15 Girls Team took to the crease as part of the Devon Finals.
Despite taking on some ‘tough competition’ they fought with ‘effort and determination’, finishing in a very respectable fourth place.
--------
From green fields to green Racing, our Girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Group were out in force in Cornwall at another Heat in the Greenpower Electric Car Racing Series.
Well Done to the Teams (pictured), finishing in 12th and a fabulous fourth place in their contests – the Team have qualified for three consecutive International Finals between 2022 and 2024 – can they make it four? We hope so!
--------
And finally, out on the Netball Courts, our Teams took part in friendly tournament, taking on invited Teams from local schools.
In a spirited and fun-filled tournament, we were delighted to see one of our Year 8 Teams secure third place in their contest.
And to make up the set, not only did one of our Year 7 Teams take a second place in their competition, but our other Year 7 Team won theirs!
Another great result from our Volleyball Teams!
--------
Well done to all our sporting students and Teams for keeping up this super standard with our own ‘treble treble’.
We have also seen a valiant try in a tough Cricket Tournament and some promising results for our Girls in STEM group in their quest for a fourth international Final.
Great work everyone!
