The past two weeks have seen
Ivybridge Community College sports staples of Netball, Football and Rugby take centre stage with another fortnight of fixtures, activities and victories too.
--------
We start with the girls and our Senior Elite Netball Team who took on a prestigious Grammar School based in Plymouth and recorded a comprehensive win by 30 points to 6.
--------
Our budding female sports stars were also out in force on the football field with our Year 7 and 8 Girls Team taking part in a WeST derby and competing against a partner Community College within the Westcountry Schools Trust.
Meanwhile, we would also like to acknowledge our Year 10 Elite Boys Football Teams (members pictured), as both the A and B side took on a team based in Torbay for a match against one of the bay’s Grammar Schools.
Our Year 8 Elite Football Team were also taking on a Torbay Grammar School this week and the College would like to congratulate them on their win by a commanding score by six goals to two.
--------
And as ever, a big 'congratulations' to our Year 7, 8 and 9 Elite Rugby Teams who took on a School based across the County border in Cornwall and won all of their three fixtures.
Unfortunately, our Year 10 Elite Team couldn’t complete a win against another team in Cornwall, however, we thank them for representing the College with pride as ever and congratulate our opponents on their victory.
Meanwhile, the College Year 9 Elite Rugby Team also recorded a win against an Independent School based in West Devon.
They then followed this up against another Independent School based in Plymouth, winning the match with a comprehensive score of 50 points to 12.
--------
A 'very well done' to all our sporting students on their efforts and victories and we are optimistic that they can repeat such feats for the final fortnight of this Half-Term.
