Sixth Form can be a great time of change in young people’s lives, and there are many new situations and issues that students face.  If you feel that you need to talk to someone at the College, in the first instance please contact your Tutor or Welfare Pastoral Leader,        Mrs Street.  All of these members of staff will be able to advise and refer on to more specialist help if necessary.

There are also many agencies that offer help and support to students of a Sixth Form age, including:

  • Kooth – Help with mental health issues, Kooth offers an immediate on-line counselling service for people aged between 11 and 18 (they also have a monitored forum).  On-line chat is available from midday on weekdays and from 6pm on weekends.
  • Young Devon drop-in service – Advice about health, relationships, friendships, mental health issues, etc. at the Watermark, Thursday 2pm – 6pm and Friday 1pm – 5pm.

Financial support – 16-19 Bursary

There are two types of bursary available to support vulnerable and/or financially disadvantaged students.  Please see the guidance information which can be found in the Policies and Documents section.  All applications are made through the Sixth Form Office.
