College Students Experience State-of-the-Art Medical Equipment
On Monday, 26 March, a group of Year 9 Ivybridge Community College students were given an exciting opportunity to experience current medical research in the laboratories of Plymouth University at Derriford Science Park, Plymouth.
Opportunities were had to talk to the researchers, professors and graduate students about their work and how they entered their field, as well as the chance to use the state-of-the-art equipment in the laboratories.
The students gained a lot from their experience, as shown by their comments, “I liked seeing the glowing digestive system of the fruit flies,” and “It was cool to experience the steps to split growing cells.”
