The show featured the three current MTG ensembles, namely the Junior Musical Theatre Group, the Intermediate Musical Theatre Group and the Senior Musical Theatre Group, as well as guest performances from past members.

“The evening was superb, showcasing performances by both present and past students. Not only were those who presently attend the College a treat to watch, but the performances by former students namely, Heather Winstanley, Joe Partridge and Sarah Jones nee Kempster were spellbinding, and all recognised the unique opportunity that MTG had provided them” said Gill Taylor, Deputy Principal.

Musical items included:

A mesmerising ‘Hushabye Moutain’, from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang performed by Joe Partridge.

‘One’ from Chorus Line performed by the Company.

A selection of songs from Matilda, performed by the iMTG and MTG.

‘We’re all in this together’ from High School Musical performed by the Ensemble.

In 2000 the Musical Theatre Group (MTG) was set up and run by the students and still is to this day. It started with fewer than 20 members, all united in their passion to perform, MTG has continued to flourish and grow ever since.

The show was a testament to the continued commitment of all MTG members both past and present.
