His mother said “Jake held his nerve to jump calmly and confidently under the huge pressure of competing at the Horse of the Year Show.”  He finished a fantastic second place, which exceeded all of his expectations, as this was his first time at such a prestigious competition.

He initially did not have a good draw being second to go and was the first to clear; consequently he then had to go first in the final jump off. However, he was eventually beaten in time by another horseman in his category, who also jumped clear.
