Sharks at Ivybridge
Shark Week came back to Ivybridge Community College in this year's Science Week.
Students in Years 9 and 10, guided by some excellent Year 13 assistants, got the opportunity to learn about all things sharks. Once again the D3 corridor was filled with the aroma of the shark’s last meal. Students got the chance to dissect a shark to discover the secrets to their success as well as finding out their last meal. Students also discovered the threats facing them in the wild, such as overfishing and the shark fin soup trade. Students got a special treat this year as the sharks had developing egg cases inside demonstrating how they make the next generation.
