RAF Fun with Flight Roadshow
On Tuesday, 24 May, a group of Year 8 and 9 students were lucky enough to take part in the RAF’s Fun with Flight Roadshow.
Over 250 students attended the sessions in the Performance Hall to find out about the new fast jets that are soon to be introduced, how drones can be used to help fight crime and of course the Science behind keeping aircraft in the air. Highlights also included seeing the Inspire 1 drone being flown at close quarters (and also being filmed and live streamed onto a large screen by it) and visualising sound waves using the flames of a Rubens tube. The performance was highly energetic and informative, and will hopefully have inspired some of our students to consider careers in engineering in the future.
