  • Free School Meals

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, their cashless catering account will be credited with £2.85 (the cost of a school meal for 2025/26) each day.

This daily allowance can not be carried forward to the following day. Any unused balance will be removed overnight, and the full £2.85 allowance will be reset the following morning.

If you would like your child to be able to spend more than the daily Free School Meals allowance, you can add additional funds to their account in the usual way via ParentPay.

Your child may be eligible for Free School Meals if you get any of the following:

    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
    • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
    • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

    Free School Meals Application Process

Applications for Free School Meals are completed through Devon County Council.  Please apply using the Citizen Portal Link below. Parents/Carers will need to create an account on the Portal if using for the first time. The system is very fast, and Parents/Carers will know the outcome of their application almost immediately.

Please use the link to apply for Free School Meals.

    Please follow the process below:

    1. If your application is successful then Parents/Carers need to send or email confirmation to Mrs Teresa Ewers, making sure to include the FSM Reference Number.   They can either send:
    • A screenshot of the confirmation
    • Or scan and email the confirmation to the following email address.

    1. As soon as the confirmation is received the student will be able to receive Free School Meals the next day when the College system updates overnight.
    2. The College asks that Parents/Carers make sure their child’s Cashless Catering account has enough funds, just in case they would like to have more than the allowance credited to their account each day.

For further information, please see the Government website here or call the Devon County Council, Education Helpline on 0345 155 1019.
