If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, their cashless catering account will be credited with £3.20 each day.
This daily allowance can not be carried forward to the following day. Any unused balance will be removed overnight, and the full £3.20 allowance will be reset the following morning.
If you would like your child to be able to spend more than the daily Free School Meals allowance, you can add additional funds to their account in the usual way via ParentPay.
For pupils in Years 7–11, eligibility is based on household benefits.

This change from September 2026, means many more secondary school pupils will be entitled to a free meal each day, providing an application is completed as detailed below.
Please be aware that if you are eligible for Expanded Free School Meals, this does not mean that you are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Only those students eligible for Targeted Free School Meals are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
Applications for Free School Meals are completed through Devon County Council. Please apply using the Citizen Portal Link below. Parents/Carers will need to create an account on the Portal if using for the first time. The system is very fast, and Parents/Carers will know the outcome of their application almost immediately.
