In November, Ivybridge Community College Year 13 student, Abbie Tweedle, donated 15 inches of her hair for both The Little Princess Trust and Cancer Research UK after seeing first-hand the devastating impacts that both cancer and hair loss can have on individuals and their families.
“I had been growing my hair for over 2 years with the hope of creating a natural long wig for a child undergoing chemotherapy or following hair loss caused by other conditions. It meant a lot to me to see all my wonderful friends and family showing their support by donating to this amazing charity and so far, I have managed to raise over £700 for Cancer Research so they can continue with the essential work that they do in finding a cure for cancer.” said Abbie.
