Ivybridge Community College students gave German audiences an early Christmas present as they treated them to four wonderful gymnastics and dance performances.
On Wednesday, 22 November Ivybridge Community College Year 8 and Year 9 students were given the opportunity to meet the inspirational Lee Spencer “The Rowing Marine" a formal Royal Marine who experienced a life changing accident and lost half of his right leg. Lee is a true inspiration and spoke to our students about how we view life and each other and he believes that every failure in his life is an opportunity to keep trying harder and succeed. Lee has rowed across the Atlantic with three other injured veterans under the "Row2Recovery" charity. He was awarded a Guinness World Record for his success.
Ivybridge Gymnastics Academy took fifty four gymnasts to the UK’s biggest intermediate gymnastics competition, the Honiton Invitational, and returned with some well-earned medals.
On Thursday, 7 December four World Class students from Ivybridge Community College were invited by Miranda Perry, World Class Schools Quality Mark Award Co-Director, to project manage this very prestigious awards ceremony, held at Churchill College, Cambridge University. This year a further sixteen schools were awarded this unique status.
The Careers Fair held on Wednesday, 23 November at the College was a busy event. Over forty companies and training providers were present, with over eight hundred students and parents attending..

Georgia McCoy, achieved a Bronze medal in the National Irish Diving Competition.
Key Stage 3 Tutor Groups have once again contributed generously to a collective charity this Christmas.
Year 13 student, Matt Keeble, has been filming and editing a series of videos, as part of his Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Over the course of the year he has produced a series based on different local places for his skill section.
Four Ivybridge Community College students Zach Anderson, Year 7, Alfie Westerman, Year 8, Josh Freeman, Year 8 and Josh Gibbs, Year 9, were part of a successful Plymouth Diving Team that competed in the fifth international Ulla Klinger Cup in Aachen, Germany between 3 November to 5 November 2017.
On Friday, 10 November 2017 Ivybridge Community College hosted a talk from a member of the House of Lords to encourage students to become more engaged with the political and parliamentary process.
