Ivybridge Community College Swimmers Achieve Amazing Results
Ivybridge Community College students recently took part in the Devon County Swimming Championships at the Life Centre, Plymouth, and all of them have made it through to the County Finals.

Ivybridge Community College students recently took part in the Devon County Swimming Championships at the Life Centre, Plymouth, and all of them have made it through to the County Finals.
This includes all after hours College activities and events as per the College calendar.
During the weekend of 3 - 4 February 2018 Jake Myers, a Year 9 Ivybridge Community College student, competed in the British Show Jumping Small Pony Premier in Keysoe, Bedford, where he qualified for the Royal International Horse Show.
Ivybridge Community College is delighted to announce that former student Kyle Turner is finally “living his dream”, according to his mother.
The Devon Championships, held at the Life Centre in Plymouth, covered three weekends in January and February with Ivybridge Community College students to the fore.
On Wednesday, 31 January one hundred Year 8 students went on a ‘raising aspirations’ visit to one of the Russell Group of Universities, namely Exeter University.
On Monday, 5 February we were delighted to welcome back Gary Wilson, Consultant in Raising Boys’ Achievement, to the College; Gary first visited us back in December when he observed boys working in lessons, met with parents, spoke to groups of students and delivered a fantastic, thought provoking presentation to staff on how we can further support our boys in raising their achievement.
On Thursday, 1 February the whole College took part in World Read Aloud Day to encourage staff and students alike to read together and share stories to advocate for literacy as a human right that belongs to all people.
By popping on their pullovers for Christmas Jumper Day, Ivybridge Community College students and staff have raised an incredible £1396.61.
Staff and students at Ivybridge Community College were delighted to see at first hand the Women’s F.A.Cup when it was showcased at the College last week.
Year 13 student, Jasmyn Lowe, has had her hair shaved off for charity in support of her childhood friend, Charlotte Barriball, who two years ago, was diagnosed a week after her 15th birthday with precursor B lymphoblastic lymphoma, a cancer which mostly affects children and teenagers and is similar to lymphoblastic leukemia.
As a result of the national publication of the Department for Education figures for the new Progress 8 measures, Ivybridge Community College is delighted to announce that it has achieved a score of 0.42. We are very proud that this is by far the best score within the non - selective secondary schools in the South West of Devon.
