It was the case of third time lucky for Ivybridge Community College when they secured the ESFA Under 13 National Cup for B Teams on Wednesday, 16 May at the Bet365 Stadium, in Stoke on Trent.
On Sunday, 27 May the College Girls' U14 Futsal Squad participated in the South West Regional finals at Paignton Academy. They competed against other school and club sides from Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Staff and students at the College demonstrated through their generosity, that one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing is ‘giving’, by making a substantial donation to Beauty Banks.
ParentPay will go live throughout the day (Thursday, 24 May from 1pm onwards) for ON-SITE activities and College Athletic Championships.
During the month of April, the father of students Emily Chapman in Year 9 and Alice Chapman in Year 7, ran 10 marathons in 10 days from Plymouth to London to raise money for charity.
Over the May Bank Holiday weekend Year 10 student, Jack Craigie, cycled 100 miles from the North Coast of Devon to the South Coast in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Crohns and Collitis UK.
Ivybridge Community College enjoyed incredible success at this year’s Ten Tors expedition. Over the weekend of 12 -13 May six teams of students successfully completed the expedition.
On Monday, 26 March, a group of Year 9 Ivybridge Community College students were given an exciting opportunity to experience current medical research in the laboratories of Plymouth University at Derriford Science Park, Plymouth.
Year 9 student, Jake Myers, has been selected for the British Showjumping Team for the Nations Cup which is due to take place in Lamprechtshausen, Austria from 18 – 21 May.
Wednesday, 14 March saw the second of Ivybridge Community College’s Impact Day Initiatives. As with the previous Impact Day it was a day that represented everything that is best about the quality of character education at the College, with the topics covered being those of Exploration, Discovery and Sustainability.
Poetry as Art: An insight into the effects of conflict. On Wednesday, 25 April Richard Rochester, a local artist and the ‘Artist in Residence’ with Devon Wildlife Trust, visited Ivybridge Community College to spend the afternoon with Miss Fawbert Mills’ Year 11 class (11v1).
On Wednesday, 27 March, eight Year 10 students took part in the Further Mathematics Support Programme Maths Feast at Coombe Dean School.
