It is with great sadness that we saw both long standing Deputies retire at the end of the summer term. With a total of 67 years of teaching served between them, an array of celebrations were held to mark the occasion.
On Sunday, 1 July, Ivybridge Community College hosted the Active Ivybridge Big Event. Running since 2014 as part of the Ivybridge Big Weekend, the event raises awareness of what activities take place within the local community, to promote healthier and more active lifestyles.
Thursday, 28 June, saw Ivybridge Community College welcome Doug Lemov, and his colleague Colleen Driggs, all the way from America to deliver an inspiring workshop to all of our teaching staff.
On Friday, 29 June, the College opened their upgraded Tennis facilities, converting two full size Tennis courts into eight Touchtennis courts, thanks to Tennis Foundation funding.

During the month of May, Panini and the English Schools’ Football Association, ran an exciting national ‘Classroom Challenge’ Writing Competition for secondary schools. The remit was to write either a match report or a short history about football in a country that has featured the FIFA World Cup.
On Sunday, 24 June the Ivybridge Community College Girls’ U14 Futsal Squad of Year 8 students Kristyna Cade, Jasmine King, Cat Rockett and Rosie Train, and Year 9 students Abbie Collicott, Maisie Frickleton and Holly Wade, represented the South West Schools and Clubs in the FA National FUTSAL Finals in Birmingham.
Students from Ivybridge Community College once again excelled when representing the College in the 2018 Devon Ability Games at Marjon’s on Thursday, 21June.
Year 6 Primary School pupils have been finding out what it feels like to be Year 7 students in preparation for their first term at Ivybridge Community College.
