Ivybridge Community College has been celebrating European Day of Languages with a whole week of exciting activities and events.
Year 10 student Jake Myers competed at the Horse of the Year Show on Friday, 5 October.
At the start of the term, Ivybridge Community College held its annual Awards Evening, which celebrated Endeavour, Performing Arts and Sport and Academic Achievement at GCSE and A Level.
Year 12 Ivybridge Community College Student Taylor Foxwell-Moss represented England in the 2018 Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships.
Year 8 and 9 students took part in the annual Institution of Mechanical Engineers (ImechE ) Cardboard Boat Race at Plymouth’s Mayflower Steps on Saturday, 15 September 2018.
Ivybridge Community College students are celebrating having received another year of superb GCSE results.
“We are so proud of all our students who have received their GCSE results today. These outcomes are a testament to the outstanding level of commitment given by our students and staff who have all worked extremely hard to enable our students to reach their full potential,” said the Principal, Rachel Hutchinson.

Former Ivybridge Community College student, Michael O’Reilly, has just landed the lead role of ‘Johnny’ in the UK Tour of Dirty Dancing.
An outstanding set of musical performances were showcased at Ivybridge Community College on Saturday, 14 July, in the cabaret variety performance entitled ‘A Million Dreams’.
Over the weekend of May 18 – 20, Ivybridge Community College Year 10 students, Reece Parkin and Jessica Rouse, competed in the mixed pairs finals at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Development Plan Competition, in Stoke on Trent, finishing in a fantastic fourth place.
Following huge success at the South West Schools Acro, Floor and Vault Championships earlier in the year, more than 50 Ivybridge Gymnastics Academy Gymnasts stepped up to the mark, taking medals at the BSGA National Finals, held in May, at Stoke-on-Trent. The Gymnasts took an amazing seven UK Schools Titles and three Bronze medal positions.
