Ivybridge Community College students enjoyed another year of incredible success at this year’s Ten Tors expedition.
The Learning Resource Centre at Ivybridge Community College has always had a wonderful relationship with the charity, Read for Good.
During Deaf Awareness Week (2 - 8 May), Ivybridge Community College students and staff engaged in various activities that promoted inclusive communication and were aimed at spreading awareness of the challenges of being deaf.
The College is delighted to report that on Sunday, 3 April 2022, Jack won the British Paraduathlon Championships in Loughborough. This is the first stage of the 2022 Paratri Super Series and involved a 2.5km run, followed by a 10km bike and then another 1.25km run. Congratulations Jack!
In April, Ivybridge Community College students in Einir Shore’s Year 7 Tutor Group sold homemade cakes and beautiful handmade jewellery, with the purpose of raising money for Ukraine.
Last term, Year 9 and 10 students attended a training day for their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
On Tuesday, 5 April a group of Year 8 girls had an exciting opportunity to participate in a brand new event called the ‘Neon Run’, held at the Pavilion in the Park, Okehampton, and hosted by Active Devon.
At the beginning of the Easter break, two Ivybridge Community College Rugby Teams travelled to Lisbon in Portugal to compete in the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, with both the girls’ and boys’ teams finishing in third place in their respective tournaments.
Ivybridge Community College RSL Music students, in Years 12 and 13, were tasked with putting together a performance to a brief of Barriers, Borders and Boundaries.
On Wednesday, 30 March, David Hill, Youth Sport Trust Athlete Mentor and Paralympian, returned to the College to support the Year 12 BTEC students deliver a Healthy Lifestyle Festival for fifty-five Year 7 students.
