Assessment takes place in every lesson, helping teachers identify what students know, understand and can do, and informing the next steps in their learning. Alongside this ongoing formative assessment, students complete formal mid-year and end-of-year assessments. These provide reliable and valid information about attainment and progress, based on evidence rather than individual opinion.
