Advice for Students

The Ivybridge Way - Keeping Safe

All students at the College have the right to feel safe both in and out of College.  If you feel unsafe or are concerned about the safety of another student it is important you know where to go and who to talk to.  At Ivybridge Community College there are a number of staff who you can talk to:-

  • Your Tutor (your tutor room)
  • Your Pastoral Leader (Pastoral Office)
  • One of your class Teachers (your teacher’s classroom)
  • One of your Teaching Assistants (in class or in the SEND office)
  • Any adult in the College

Each year group has a Pastoral Leader that deals with student concerns who is available during the day for you to talk to.  They are located in the Pastoral Offices, and there is also a Safeguarding Office where a dedicated member of the Safeguarding Team (wearing a yellow lanyard) is based. The team also includes the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

You can also contact ChildLine about anything.  No problem is too big or too small.  Whatever your worry, it is better out than in.  If it is about e-safety try this page.
