The World Class Schools Quality Mark Assessment 2018

On Thursday, 1 November 2018, a number of our World Class students attended as either Shadow Assessors or Lead Assessors for the World Class Schools Quality Mark Assessment Centre, held at Riverbank Academy, in Coventry.

There were eight projects which involved the re-designing of the 16+ hub for students of 16-19 at the Academy.   Each of the five assessors had to assess three students against the World Class Schools Quality Mark competencies – including any pre-planning, liaising with other students and the host school.

Ben Conroy, in Year 13, who is a qualified Assessor, acted as a Lead Assessor, having strategic oversight for the whole project, as well as supporting the Shadow Assessors.   Peter Bull and Millie Davies in Year 13, together with Izzy Underdown and Lucy Ryder in Year 11, were Shadow Assessors.  They had oversight of three students each, involved in designing, developing and project  managing  the front entrance to the 16+ Hub.

Our students benefitted greatly, as they hopefully will become Lead Assessors themselves and part of the World Class Schools Alumni.  In addition they develop their own personal and intrapersonal skills, as well as the opportunity to lead or work in collaboration with other World Class Schools across the country.
