It’s only just the start of the new academic year, but our sports stars are out in force and we already have some great achievements to report in our usual College staples of…

Netball

Football

Rugby

…which, amongst other things saw an early, comprehensive victory for our new Head of Rugby, but also…

Boxing

Athletics

First up, we are very excited with the launch of the New Year’s Enrichment Program, with many sports clubs involved.

Across the College and subjects, there are 196 clubs in total, so keen students have plenty to choose from.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Nelly (pictured) is certainly on a run.

Following our previous reports of her achievements, we are delighted to learn of another Gold Medal, this time at the 300m race at the Cornwall Young Athletics Competition.

--------

And he’s only just arrived with us, but we would like to congratulate one of our new starters in Year 7 for his performance in the Boxing Ring.

We would like to congratulate Tommy (pictured) who has followed in the footsteps of some of our other Boxing heroes and fought his way to victory in a Boxing competition.

Well done and we look forward to seeing him show that fighting spirit with all his endeavours during his time with the College.

--------

Meanwhile, we would also like to mention our new Year 10 Netball Squad following their earlier performance in a National Plate Tournament.

Despite their tough opposition from a Team from a school in Exeter, this is the start of what we hope promises to be a super campaign.

--------

Over on the football field, our Year 8 Elite Boys’ Team had a great start to the season.

Well done to the Team following their super seven goals to one victory over a team from a local grammar school!

--------

And finally, the first few weeks of the new year has seen a superb start for our Rugby group and a brilliant first win for our new Head of Rugby, George Montgomery (pictured).

Well done to our Senior Elite Rugby Team who recorded a 31 – 12 victory over a team from a Further Education College in Bristol!

--------

A promising start to the new season and we hope to bring you more good news soon!
