The Leading Edge Partnership Programme is government funded with the aim of promoting school collaboration in raising standards.
Ivybridge Community College is a joint lead school with Kingsbridge Community College. Our partner schools are Tavistock Community College, Tiverton School, Dartmouth Community College and Teignmouth Community College. Our partnership is represented at National Level with Ms Nicky Peters sitting on the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Focus Group and Mrs Sandra Crawford sitting on Research and Development Group. |

- Curriculum Initiatives. At Ivybridge Community College our Art, English, ICT, Mathematics, Physical Education and Science Departments will be linking with a number of our partner schools to share good practice, host visits and create cross-partnership projects.
- Behaviour Project. Six schools met to share behaviour strategies and good practice. This contributed to the implementation of our new College Code of Behaviour. Shared training across six schools took place at the end of Summer Term. Simon Crawford and Nicky Peters are co-ordinating a video project involving students from all six schools which will be used as a tool for promoting positive behaviour across the partnership.
- Pupil Visits. Our students have undertaken a 'Learning Walk' to Kingsbridge Community College and have fed back their findings to the College Council. We will be hosting students and staff from Kingsbridge on a reciprocal visit. The aim is for students from all six schools to visit each other and feedback in a joint Student Conference in the Summer Term.
- NESTA Project. Kingsbridge and Ivybridge are receiving funding from NESTA and are trialling an innovative Year 9 Curriculum in Science, focusing on raising student achievement. A successful trip to Riverford has already been organised.
- Boys' Project 2004. A group of under-performing boys in current Year 10 were identified and benefitted from structured mentoring from Teaching staff and Teaching Assistants. A range of activities were organised to promote their belonging to the College - they fed back to the Initial Teacher Training Programme and worked with boys in the Erme Primary School. They will receive ongoing help until the end of Year 11. A similar group will commence with Year 9 girls in January 2006.
