You must pass the DfE professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy prior to entry to the course. You can have three attempts at each test – the first is free but there is a charge for the next two attempts.
After you have sent your application to UCAS and you have received your Welcome letter, you need to book dates to take the skills
You will need to take your Welcome letter to the test center as evidence that you have already applied for teacher training.
Training providers may use skills test results to make a decision on your application, so you should aim to pass these tests as soon as possible after you have submitted your application to give yourself the best chance of obtaining a place.
