Coaching group:

For the 2008/9 academic year, we have put together a trial team of teaching staff who will coach a group of students in their preparation for the GCSE exams.  Such is the strength of feeling amongst all College staff for student support, we have 27 staff signed up for the first phase.

Training School:

At Ivybridge, the Leading Edge and Training School specialisms work closely together to ensure that all the training needs of both the staff and the students are met.  There will be ongoing professional development for the staff coaches, and some detailed training for the students from Alan Jones, a professional study support specialist.

Our partner:

St Luke's is a thriving, well resourced and exciting College in Exeter.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with St Luke's and share the same high expectations and ambitions for our students.  Our partnership will centre on the sharing of good practice and mutual support in our bid to help the students from both Colleges to achieve their potential.

Maths and English:

Central to the aim of the Leading Edge programme is to further increase the levels of numeracy and literacy amongst our students.  The Maths and English departments continue to work very closely with each other to provide professional support and guidance for both numeracy and literacy across the curriculum.
