Ivybridge Community College is a large and successful Specialist Sports College that has been awarded a second Specialism in Science and Mathematics, aswell as a third specialism in Languages. It is situated on the southern slopes of Dartmoor and draws students from a feeder area covering over 100 square miles of the South Hams. There are a total of 13 partner primary schools.

The College, which is a very popular and successful institution offering a range of outstanding facilities and opportunities to students from 11-18, is over-subscribed in most Year groups.

Parents of pupils at partner primary schools will receive a copy of the booklet "The Next step" in September of the year preceding transfer to secondary education and should complete the Parental Preference Form and forward it to the Divisional Education Office by the appropriate date (usually the first week of November).

Admission criteria are laid down by Devon County Council and because of the popularity of Ivybridge Community College, places are normally only offered to children in Categories 1 and 2 (although children in other categories sometimes succeed in gaining places later in the year).

Parents seeking places for their children in Years 7 - 11 should contact the College Admissions Officer; for the Tertiary Sector they should contact the Director of Tertiary Education.

The College day begins at 8.55am and ends at 3.30pm.
